Ku Ku is one of Poland’s best kept secrets - a master of psychedelic, syrupy club music that triggers synaesthetic feelings. His two-tracker for Tańce is only ten minutes, but tackles perfectly the complex feelings of getting by these days.

“Za dużo” means “too much”, and the repeating vocal phrase is haunting the track relentlessly over a trippy club beat and dreamy synth line that washes out as the track progresses. As there’s only so much one can take, the track explodes painfully with heavy percussive stutter, creating an emotional whirlwind. “Od nowa” means “all over again”, but depending on how fast you read it, it can also mean “regeneration”. The processed scratch sounds create a confusing feeling, but with a pinch of optimism you can find some solace in this track as the disturbing sound design blends with moments of house music euphoria.

Both tracks make use of the devil’s fiddle samples, a noisemaker working both as a drum and bass, favored by the witches. Let these two mantras become a favourable spell.

Ku Ku is Adam Skrzypkowski—music producer, DJ and sound designer from Warsaw, Poland known for his ESC EP for BAS.KOLEKTYW and scores for animated movies and video games. His aesthetic revolves heavily around 2000s Japanese techno, music from the Kompakt label and new dance music found on Bandcamp.
